Sulmona Mayor Approves Summer Ordinance Curbing Night Music and Glass Beverage Sales
Sulmona’s mayor, Luca Tirabassi, signed a municipal ordinance that will be in force until 13 September. The measure permits the emission of sound‑producing activities only on Saturdays and on specific municipal events, allowing music to continue until 01:00 the following morning.
The same ordinance bans the sale or serving of any drinks in glass containers between 22:00 and 05:00, including a prohibition on take‑away alcoholic beverages in glass containers outside the historic centre. Violations are punishable under the existing local regulation. The mayor said the rules aim to balance residents’ right to quiet with the needs of tourists and local businesses during the busy summer period.
