Sarnano-Sassotetto Hill Climb Kicks Off 35th Trofeo Scarfiotti with 154 Drivers
The 35th Trofeo Lodovico Scarfiotti hill‑climb race will take place in Sarnano, Macerata Province, from 24 to 26 July 2026. The event counts as a round of both the Italian Mountain Speed Championship (north) and the Historic Car Hill‑Climb Championship. Preliminary sports checks and technical inspections are scheduled for Friday 24 July, followed by a briefing with race director Fabrizio Fondacci.
The 9 927‑metre circuit climbs from Brilli to the summit of Sassotetto, covering a vertical gain of 783 m with an average gradient of 7.92 %. A total of 154 pilots – including returning champion Stefano Di Fulvio, Achille Lombardi, Omar Magliona and others – will compete in timed runs over two race sessions on Sunday.
Grasso Racing Team, after a recent appearance at the Verzegnis round, will field a Renault 5 Proto prototype in the Sarnano‑Sassotetto climb, aiming to improve its performance against stronger Austrian rivals. As Magliona noted, “È una gara dal fascino antico, molto selettiva, tecnica, è divertentissima”.
