Sultan Haitham of Oman visits France for bilateral talks and agreements

On 29 June, Oman’s Sultan Haitham bin Tariq made his first official state visit to France, where he was received by President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace. The leaders signed a series of cooperation agreements covering economic, investment, scientific and cultural cooperation, and launched an Oman‑France Business Forum to encourage private‑sector partnerships.

Discussions also focused on regional security, particularly maritime safety in the Strait of Hormuz, reflecting Oman’s role in regional dialogue. French media extensively covered the visit, highlighting its diplomatic and strategic significance for both countries.
