Summer carnivals draw crowds in Cardedu and Tarquinia Lido

Various summer carnival celebrations are taking place across Italian coastal regions, drawing significant crowds of residents and tourists.

In Cardedu, the summer carnival at Museddu beach featured traditional Sardinian masks and costumes from several regional areas, including Escalaplano, Tertenia, Teti, Sindia, Fonni, and Ilbono. The event, organized by the local Pro Loco with municipal and regional support, included street food, markets, and a pyrotechnic finale. Mayor Marcello Vacca noted that attendance exceeded all expectations.

In Tarquinia Lido, the summer carnival returns for its second scheduled parade of the 2026 edition on August 16. The event, promoted by Pro Loco Tarquinia and the Municipality of Tarquinia, utilizes large inflatable sculptures as a modern alternative to traditional carnival formats. The parade is designed to engage families and visitors along the seafront, concluding with a celebration in Piazza delle Naiadi.
