Sumo wrestler Asanoyama donates 1 million yen to Himi City

Professional sumo wrestler Asanoyama visited Himi City in Toyama Prefecture on September 29 to donate 1 million yen to support recovery efforts following heavy rains in late August. Accompanied by members of his Toyama supporters' association, Asanoyama presented the donation to Himi Mayor Masahiro Kikuchi.

Asanoyama, who is originally from Toyama City, chose to support Himi because it is his mother's hometown and where his grandmother resides. He expressed his desire to provide courage and energy to the community through his performance in the ring as he prepares for the upcoming tournament in Kyushu.
