Sumur Karang Reservoir dries up in Tangerang

The Sumur Karang Reservoir in Kronjo, Tangerang Regency, has dried up due to a month-long dry season. The 5.7-hectare reservoir, which serves as a vital irrigation source for local agriculture, has turned into dry land.

The Tangerang Regency Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reports that the drought is impacting multiple areas. Approximately 43 hectares of rice crops across 12 sub-districts and 24 villages are at risk of harvest failure due to the lack of irrigation water. Additionally, the drought has caused a clean water crisis affecting 1,565 families, or roughly 6,260 individuals, across 13 sub-districts.
