Sun PhuQuoc Airways launches Bangkok–Phu Quoc service as fleet targets 32 aircraft by 2026

Vietnam’s Sun PhuQuoc Airways, the newest carrier launched in October 2025, is rapidly expanding its fleet and route network. The airline aims to operate 32 aircraft by the end of 2026, adding wide‑body Airbus A330s in September 2026 and has placed a billion‑dollar order for 40 Boeing jets scheduled for delivery from 2031.

Its route network already connects Vietnam’s major hubs – Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, Nha Trang and Hai Phong – with six Asian international destinations: Taipei, Hong Kong, Seoul, Singapore, Bangkok and Chengdu. On 8 August 2026 the carrier will commence a daily round‑trip service between Bangkok and Phu Quoc, becoming the first full‑service airline on that corridor. The launch includes premium amenities such as complimentary meals, 23 kg checked baggage, a lounge access, and a “Resort in the Sky” cabin concept.

The expansion underscores Sun PhuQuoc Airways’ ambition to become a regional full‑service carrier, leveraging the post‑pandemic recovery in Vietnamese aviation while confronting rising costs, talent shortages and infrastructure pressures.
