Sunday Igboho launches Iru Ekun Security Network in Southwest Nigeria
Sunday Adeyemo, widely known as Sunday Igboho, has launched the Iru Ekun Security Network to combat crime across Southwest Nigeria. Speaking at the launch in Akure, Ondo State, the Yoruba Nation activist stated that the network aims to secure forests, highways, and farming communities against bandits, kidnappers, and rogue herders.
Igboho credited the Nigeria Police Force, the Nigerian Army, and the Department of State Services (DSS) for providing tactical support to the initiative. He noted that the network's operations have already contributed to a visible reduction in criminal activities in rural and agrarian areas that were previously plagued by instability.
Despite these improvements, Igboho emphasized that the group will not relent, warning against complacency. He expressed a commitment to restoring public confidence in the government's ability to provide a peaceful environment necessary for socioeconomic development.
