Jason Sanjay debuts as director with heist thriller Sigma

Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay, has made his directorial debut with the heist thriller Sigma, released on October 2. The film stars Sundeep Kishan and Faria Abdullah and is produced by Lyca Productions.

Early audience reactions have been mixed. While many viewers praised Sundeep Kishan’s performance, his comedic timing, and the film’s action sequences and musical score by Thaman S, others criticized the screenplay and pacing. Some reviewers described the first half as slow or outdated, though the interval block received positive mentions.

The release has drawn significant public interest due to Sanjay’s family connections. His mother, Sangeetha Sornalingam, and sister, Divya Saasha, attended early screenings in Chennai. Meanwhile, Vijay expressed support for his son during a political roadshow, despite being unable to attend the film's premiere due to official duties.
