Sungrow supplies 240 MWh battery storage to BNZ for Italian solar farms

Sungrow will deliver battery‑energy‑storage systems totalling 240 MWh to independent power producer BNZ for two photovoltaic plants in the Viterbo province of Italy – the 45 MW Rinaldone and the 53 MW Camposcala projects. The deal, part of a broader framework agreement with Nuveen Infrastructure, covers complete BESS equipment (batteries, containers, power conversion and medium‑voltage systems) together with commissioning, on‑site testing, technical training and a third‑party energy‑management system. A long‑term service contract provides extended component warranties, preventive maintenance, 24/7 remote monitoring and performance guarantees.

BNZ CEO Luis Selva said the partnership “represents a strategic step forward in our commitment to energy storage as a cornerstone of the energy transition,” adding that the batteries will enhance grid stability and maximise the value of renewable generation. Sungrow Europe vice‑president Javier Izcue highlighted the collaboration as a push to accelerate storage deployment across Europe, noting that the technology will improve flexibility, stability and efficiency of the power system.
