Sungrow global battery storage deployments

In July 2026, Chinese renewable‑energy firm Sungrow expanded its European and African energy‑storage footprint. On 21 July, it agreed to supply 240 MWh of battery‑energy‑storage systems for two solar farms in Italy’s Viterbo province, covering full equipment, commissioning, training and a long‑term service package. The deployment aims to improve grid stability and maximise renewable output.

A ten‑day later report noted Sungrow’s commissioning of a World Bank‑backed 35 MWh solar‑plus‑storage micro‑grid in Sierra Leone. The project, featuring eight PowerTitan batteries, is expected to raise national electricity access from roughly 16 % to 36 % and provide black‑start capability for households, schools, health facilities and businesses. Both announcements highlight Sungrow’s strategy of scaling battery‑storage installations across diverse markets to support energy‑transition goals.
