Supaul road accident kills five people during Kirtan
A high-speed vehicle struck a group of people performing Kirtan during Jhulan Puja near the Bajrangbali Temple on National Highway 327E in the Pippra police station area of Supaul, Bihar. The accident occurred late Tuesday night near Katia Chowk.
Five individuals died as a result of the collision. The deceased have been identified as Tilai Das (65), Raju Das (50), Surendra Yadav (45), Bhuvneshwari Yadav, and Krishna Mohan Sah. One person, Ramchandra Yadav, was seriously injured and taken to the Sadar Hospital for treatment.
The vehicle reportedly lost control, struck the group, and traveled approximately 50 meters before crashing into a roadside shop. The driver fled the scene. Local authorities have seized the vehicle and launched an investigation. District Magistrate Sawan Kumar announced that the families of the deceased will each receive 400,000 rupees in assistance. Local residents have expressed anger, citing roadside encroachment and temporary shops as contributing factors to increased accident risks on the highway.
