Supérate expands social protection services in Pedernales
The social protection program Supérate, led by Director General Mayra Jiménez, held a series of meetings in Pedernales to identify the needs of vulnerable families and expand social opportunities. As part of the “Del Escritorio al Territorio” (From the Desk to the Territory) strategy, the initiative aims to bring services closer to communities through direct engagement.
In Pedernales, the program currently supports 5,513 families through various subsidies, including “Aliméntate,” gas and electricity vouchers, Supérate Mujer, and the National Fund for Children and Adolescents with Disabilities. Additionally, the “Aprende y Avanza” incentive supports 1,008 households within the local educational community.
To improve accessibility, a new Supérate Service Office will open in Oviedo, Pedernales. The program also announced plans to support local artisans in their entrepreneurial ventures to improve their quality of life. Since February, this territorial outreach strategy has conducted 35 meetings across various provinces, reaching over 23,000 beneficiaries.
