The Supreme Authority for Drugs and Medical Supplies, represented by the National Center for Pharmacovigilance and Drug Safety, has launched the 11th World Medication Safety Week in Yemen. The campaign, running from November 2 to 8, 2026, operates under the slogan: “Do not ignore side effects... report them.”
In Hadramout, the initiative was launched in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences at Hadramout University. The event included educational sessions on pharmacovigilance concepts, methods for reporting suspected side effects, and instructions on using the drug safety application. Participants included medical students, doctors, and pharmacists.
In Shabwa, activities were held at the Maternal and Child Hospital in Ataq. The sessions targeted hospital management and healthcare staff to integrate the reporting of suspected side effects into daily professional medical practice. The campaign aims to enhance awareness of safe medication use and strengthen the culture of reporting adverse reactions to ensure patient safety.
