Mato Grosso advances 2027 budget and land regularization efforts

Mato Grosso is undergoing several significant administrative and economic developments. The state government has submitted its 2027 Annual Budget Project to the Legislative Assembly, projecting revenues and expenses of R$ 46.1 billion, a 13% increase from 2026. The proposal includes R$ 15.3 billion in net tax exemptions, primarily through ICMS.

In land management, the Institute of Lands of Mato Grosso (Intermat) delivered 5,175 definitive property deeds for urban and rural areas in 2026, contributing to legal security for residents. Additionally, MTPrev has contracted companies for R$ 3.6 million to conduct medical examinations for public servants in the interior regions of Cáceres, Rondonópolis, and Sinop.

Economically, the ethanol and sugar industry in the state generated R$ 586.6 million in wages in 2025, representing 9% of the state's industrial payroll. The sector has seen an 87% increase in formal employment between 2019 and 2025, supported by R$ 27 billion in investments since 2017.

On a national level, the National Confederation of Trade (CNC) has expressed opposition to a proposed federal law that would establish a national minimum wage for pharmacists, citing potential cost increases for small businesses.
