Supreme Federal Court security incident in Brasília

A man claiming to be the ‘emperor of the Brazilian Armed Forces’ was removed from the premises of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) in Brasília on Thursday. The individual approached the court's marquee and began shouting incoherent phrases, prompting an intervention by the Judicial Police.

According to the STF, the man was escorted to the external area of the building to maintain order but was not arrested. There were no reports of weapons or direct threats during the encounter.

This incident follows a similar security event at the court last week, where a man was detained after attempting to scale the building's protective railings. In that previous case, a suspicious backpack thrown near a bus stop required an inspection by the Military Police's bomb squad, which ultimately found no explosives.
