Surabaya authorities seal three alcohol shops for licensing violations

The Surabaya Municipal Police (Satpol PP) has sealed three alcohol shops in the Pabean Cantian, Sukomanunggal, and Rungkut districts for violating licensing regulations.

According to Rizal Zainal Arifin, Head of Regional Regulation Enforcement, the businesses held sub-distributor licenses intended for large-scale trade and distribution to hotels, bars, and restaurants. However, the shops were found selling alcohol directly to the general public in retail quantities, which is prohibited under their current permits.

During the enforcement action, officers seized dozens of bottles of alcohol as evidence. The authorities have implemented temporary closures at the locations by applying seals and violation stickers as a firm measure against businesses failing to comply with local trade and industry regulations.
