Surabaya authorities seal unlicensed DrinkinQ liquor store

The Surabaya City Government has sealed the DrinkinQ liquor store located in the Barata Jaya area due to operating without a valid alcohol sales permit. The enforcement action was carried out on Friday, October 2, 2026, by the Surabaya Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) in coordination with the Department of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises, and Trade (Dinkopumdag).

The store, operated under PT Sembilan Enam Perkasa Indonesia, was found to be in violation of Surabaya City Regional Regulation Number 1 of 2023 regarding Trade and Industry. The sealing follows previous inspections and attempts by management to evade oversight.

Authorities issued a stern warning to the management to comply with the administrative sanctions and cautioned that tampering with or breaking the official seals is a criminal offense under the Indonesian Penal Code. Local residents in the Barata Jaya area reportedly welcomed the enforcement action following prior community opposition to the store's presence in a residential zone.
