Surat to Udaipur Vande Bharat Express approved
The Ministry of Railways has approved the launch of a new Vande Bharat Express service connecting Surat in Gujarat to Udaipur in Rajasthan. This marks the first Vande Bharat service for Surat and the sixth premium train for the state of Gujarat.
The train will operate six days a week, with maintenance scheduled every Tuesday. The service is expected to begin before the upcoming Navratri festival. The 8-coach train will reduce the travel time between Surat and Udaipur to approximately 7.5 hours.
Scheduled stops include Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Ahmedabad, Himmatnagar, and Shamlaji in Gujarat, as well as Dungarpur and Jawar in Rajasthan. The new service replaces the existing Udaipur City-Asarva (Ahmedabad) Vande Bharat Express, which will be permanently discontinued to upgrade the route to the Surat-Udaipur connection. Primary maintenance for the train will be based in Surat, with water refilling facilities available at Vadodara and Asarva stations.
