Suriname honors outgoing Dutch Ambassador Walter Oostelbos

Surinamese Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Cooperation, Melvin Bouva, received Walter Oostelbos to mark the conclusion of his term as the resident ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Suriname.

During the meeting, officials reviewed the strengthening of bilateral relations, highlighting the historic state visit by King Willem-Alexander and Queen Máxima to Suriname as a major milestone that yielded concrete cooperative results.

Additionally, the recent launch of the Makandra-programma 2.0 was noted as a key development intended to further intensify cooperation between the Surinamese and Dutch governments. To honor his service and contributions to the friendship between the two nations, Ambassador Oostelbos was presented with an award and a gift by Minister Bouva and Director Miriam Mac Intosh.
