Surinamese‑Dutch rapper Tony Scott in final stage of life, family denies death rumors

Tony Scott, the stage name of Peter van der Bosch, a 54‑year‑old Surinamese‑born Dutch rapper and hip‑house pioneer, was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2015. His family announced that he is now in his final life phase and is being cared for peacefully by close relatives. After false online reports claimed he had died, the family issued a statement clarifying that he is still alive, urging the public and media to refrain from spreading unverified information. They expressed gratitude for the support received and explained that they have decided to cease further treatment because “there is no prospect of recovery.” The family recalled his 2016 farewell concert organized by Dutch DJ Ben Liebrand and his last stage appearance at the Urban Matterz festival in 2018. They emphasized that he remains surrounded by love and dignity during this vulnerable period.
