Survivor Greece contestant sues producers for $100 million after leg amputation

Stavros Floros, a 22-year-old former contestant of Survivor Greece, has filed a $100 million lawsuit in Miami-Dade County, Florida, against the show's producers and broadcasters. The legal action follows a severe accident on May 11, 2024, near Saona Island in the Dominican Republic, which resulted in the amputation of Floros's left leg and serious injuries to his right leg.

The lawsuit alleges negligence, claiming that the production failed to implement adequate safety measures. According to the complaint, Floros was participating in underwater spear fishing during a filming break when a tourist boat entered the area. The boat's propellers struck his legs, causing the amputation. The plaintiff argues that the production allowed contestants to fish in open waters with heavy commercial and tourist traffic without providing security boats, warning signs, or protected perimeters.

The defendants named in the suit include Acun Medya, Acun Medya Global, Acun LLC, Turkish businessman Acun Ilicali, and the Greek television network SKAI TV. Floros is seeking compensatory and punitive damages, as well as coverage for past and future medical expenses.
