Globo announces BBB 27 premiere date and new format

Globo has announced the details for the 27th season of Big Brother Brasil (BBB 27), scheduled to premiere on January 11, 2027. The 100-day competition will feature a mix of Pipoca, Camarote, and veteran participants.

Key updates to the format include the return of the 'Glass Houses' (Casas de Vidro) between January 8 and 10, where candidates will compete for spots and special powers. The Sunday schedule will be split into two parts: an afternoon segment following 'Temperatura Máxima' to begin the 'Paredão' formation, and a concluding segment in the evening after 'Fantástico'. Additionally, Tuesday eliminations will now feature a live interview on TV Globo with a studio audience, including a fan and a critic of the eliminated contestant.

To expand its digital footprint, Globo is launching a vertical reality show for content creators in 2026, with the winner joining the official BBB 27 squad. The franchise will also enter the Roblox platform with a virtual environment for fans and move the 'BBB Experience' immersive event from São Paulo to Rio de Janeiro.
