Suspect arrested after shooting in Sätra district of Gävle
On Friday night a shooting erupted in the Sätra district of Gävle, Sweden, leaving one man injured and prompting a police response. Police entered a nearby dumpster, conducted several seizures and carried out interviews throughout the weekend. A 25‑year‑old man was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and aggravated weapons offences. Police spokesperson Pelle Vamstad said, “Under natten har vi gripit en person, en man i 25‑årsåldern, som är misstänkt i ärendet.” Prosecutor Arek Nowak added that “det har gjorts flera beslag.” The suspect remains in custody while investigators continue to review camera footage and gather evidence, with a decision on detention scheduled for 14 July.
The victim was taken to hospital; his condition has not been disclosed. Authorities plan additional interrogations in the coming days as the investigation proceeds.
