Suspect arrested in theft of 36 ballistic vests from Detran-DF

A woman suspected of participating in the theft of 36 ballistic vests from the Department of Transit of the Federal District (Detran-DF) has surrendered to the police. The suspect, who was a fugitive, presented herself spontaneously at the 2nd Police Station in Asa Norte on Tuesday, October 20, where a temporary arrest warrant was executed.

Before proceeding with the arrest, the Civil Police of the Federal District (PCDF) consulted the Regional Electoral Court of the Federal District (TRE-DF) to ensure compliance with Article 236 of the Electoral Code, which restricts the detention of voters during specific periods surrounding elections. The TRE-DF confirmed the suspect has no electoral registration, allowing for the immediate execution of the warrant.

The investigation began in September 2026 after a routine inventory at the Detran-DF Logistics Operation Unit (ULOG) revealed the missing equipment. This follows a police operation on October 15, which involved three temporary arrest warrants and six search and seizure warrants across several administrative regions of the Federal District and neighboring municipalities in Goiás.
