Sustainability initiatives launch in Algarve and Lisbon

Portugal is hosting several initiatives focused on sustainability and the green transition. The 'Internacionalizar + Algarve 3.0' project is launching a series of sessions dedicated to nature and nautical tourism. Starting October 27, these online sessions aim to demonstrate how sustainable practices can serve as a competitive advantage for businesses in these sectors. The initiative is organized by NERA, the Algarve Tourism Region (RTA), and the Algarve Tourism Association (ATA), with co-financing from the European Union.

In Lisbon, the 8th Green Savers Conference, titled ‘Leading the Sustainable Transition’, will take place on October 27. The event features debate panels focused on integrating sustainability into management decisions, the implementation of the circular economy, and the role of local communities in the transition. Discussions will address practical challenges such as the new European packaging regulations and the mobilization of citizens to support environmental efficiency and green spaces.
