Suvendu Adhikari campaigns in Nandigram ahead of bye-election

West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari has intensified campaigning for the upcoming Nandigram Assembly bye-election. Adhikari expressed confidence that voters seek to connect with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s development agenda and the government’s ‘double-engine development’.

During the final day of campaigning, Adhikari targeted former Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, alleging that the previous Trinamool Congress administration used the state police to file false attempt-to-murder cases against BJP leaders. He specifically challenged the validity of claims regarding Banerjee’s 2021 leg injury, asserting that medical records showed no evidence of broken bones.

The bye-election was necessitated after Adhikari vacated the seat to retain Bhabanipur. Polling is scheduled for October 6, with the counting of votes to follow on October 9.
