Suzuki launches Vitara Across hybrid SUV in Latin America

Suzuki has expanded its SUV lineup in Latin American markets with the introduction of the Vitara Across, a model featuring mild hybrid technology.

In the Dominican Republic, Santo Domingo Motors presented the vehicle, highlighting its 1.5-liter gasoline engine paired with a 12V Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki (SHVS) system. This system provides an additional torque of up to 50 Nm during starts to improve efficiency and performance.

In Argentina, the Across serves as a replacement for the Gran Vitara. Manufactured in India as the Maruti Suzuki Victis, the Argentine versions (GL and GLX) utilize a 1.5-liter K15C engine producing 101 CV. The mild hybrid system assists during acceleration and deceleration without requiring external charging. The vehicle features a 210 mm ground clearance and is designed for urban use with front-wheel drive.
