Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign drives cleanliness across India

Various regions in India are participating in the Swachhata Hi Seva 2026 campaign through cleanliness drives and public advocacy.

In Shillong, NEIGRIHMS has been conducting awareness programs and community involvement initiatives since September 17. These activities include cleanliness drives at local schools, poster competitions for youth, and health camps for sanitation workers. Additionally, the institute is observing Patient Safety Week with lectures on medication safety and emergency preparedness training involving BHISHM Cubes.

In Nagaland, urban local bodies and rural departments in the Zunheboto and Phek districts are observing the nationwide campaign. In Zunheboto, the Aghunato Town Council held awareness meetings across several colonies to promote hygiene. Local officials and business leaders discussed the need for improved waste disposal infrastructure, such as dustbins and public toilets, to maintain a clean and litter-free environment.
