Archetyp drug marketplace sentencing for Swedish moderators

Three Swedish men face sentencing for their alleged roles as moderators for Archetyp, a massive darknet drug marketplace. Authorities describe the site as one of the two largest of its kind globally.

At the time of its shutdown in 2025, Archetyp hosted over 600,000 users, 3,000 sellers, and 17,000 advertisements. The platform facilitated the sale of cannabis, cocaine, LSD, and other narcotics using cryptocurrency. Total turnover is estimated to have reached at least 250 million euros (approximately 2.7 billion SEK).

Police inspector Björn Eriksson noted a strong link between the marketplace and organized crime groups involved in shootings and explosions. The investigation highlights the ongoing challenges of digital crime, following the previous shutdown of platforms like Flugsvamp.
