Swedish automakers Polestar and Volvo roll out new electric SUVs

Polestar tested its all‑electric Polestar 3 SUV on a weekend trip from Barcelona to Bilbao, highlighting the vehicle’s coupe‑style design, 2.985 m wheelbase and minimalist Scandinavian interior. The review noted a digital‑only cockpit, Android Automotive infotainment and a spacious rear bench, while critiquing the reliance on screen controls for functions such as the glove‑box.

Volvo introduced the EX60, positioned as the electric counterpart to the brand’s best‑selling XC60. Built on the new SPA3 platform and equipped with Volvo’s Superset Tech Stack, the model aims to raise the share of electrified sales to 90‑100 % by 2030. The EX60 features a drag coefficient of 0.26, a vertically‑mounted central display and recycled interior materials. Volvo expects the EX60 to drive growth in the premium midsize SUV segment, where the company sold 151,830 pure‑electric units and 323,294 electrified vehicles in 2025.
