Swedish E4 highway faces repeated traffic lane blockages
Swedish traffic authorities reported several incidents that disrupted traffic on major roads. On the E4 corridor north of Stockholm, a stationary passenger car blocked the right‑hand lane between Märsta and Rosersberg, and another stopped near Brunnby at the Stockholm‑Uppsala border, causing delays in both directions. Similar lane blockages were noted on the E4 between Björklinge and Vendel, as well as between Kumla and Bärby, all due to immobilised vehicles.
Additional disturbances involved wildlife and accidents. A deer entered the roadway on the E18 between Romberga and Annelund, and another animal appeared on the E4 between Tierp and Mehedeby, prompting temporary traffic slow‑downs. A multi‑vehicle collision further reduced flow on the E4 between Rosersberg and Stora Wäsby. Other reports mentioned a single‑car crash on road 288 near Östhammar and fallen trees affecting road 563.
All incidents were communicated by the Swedish Transport Administration, advising drivers to expect lane closures and reduced speeds in the affected sections.
