Swedish man found after living at Naples airport for weeks
A young Swedish man, identified only as Daniel, has been reunited with his family after living at Naples Capodichino airport for several weeks without money or identification. Daniel had reportedly suffered from memory loss, making it difficult for him to explain his background or how he arrived at the terminal.
During his time at the airport, passengers and staff provided him with food and clothing. The Swedish honorary consul in Naples, Pierluigi Petrone, assisted in the investigation after receiving reports from airport personnel. A breakthrough occurred after Daniel was placed in a municipal reception center, where social workers and the Swedish embassy successfully contacted his parents, who had not heard from him since August.
Daniel is currently receiving assistance and is expected to return to Sweden through cooperation between local authorities and the Swedish embassy in Rome.
