Swedish metal band Imminence releases surprise single “First Light”

Swedish metal group Imminence has surprise‑dropped a new song titled “First Light”. The track follows last month’s single “The Sword That Never Bends” and serves as a preview for the band’s next album, which is being recorded as a follow‑up to 2024’s “The Black”. In an interview with Kerrang!, frontman Eddie Berg and guitarist Harald Barrett explained that the success of “The Black” shaped the direction of the new material. They said they wanted to push the band to a new level, deliberately moving away from the style of the previous album. Berg added that the new song reflects a reaction to writing “The Black” and aims to make the band step out of its comfort zone. The release is accompanied by a new music video for “First Light”.
