Imminence Swedish metalcore release cycle

In July 2026 the Swedish metalcore band Imminence began a rapid sequence of releases. On 21 July they surprise‑dropped the single “First Light”, a follow‑up to the earlier track “The Sword That Never Bends” and a preview of material for their next album after 2024’s “The Black”. The song was accompanied by a new video and the band explained it marked a deliberate shift away from their previous style.

A week later, on 28 July, Imminence announced their sixth studio album Axis Mundi, slated for an 2 October release on Sumerian Records. They unveiled two preview tracks, “False Light” and “Crestfallen”, highlighting the album’s contrast between aggressive intensity and cinematic breadth. The announcement was paired with festival slots and upcoming European tour dates, underscoring the band’s active role in Sweden’s metalcore scene.
