Swedish parents' social media worries heighten teacher stress over parental contact

A recent IF survey of Swedish parents shows that social media is the second‑largest future concern for children, mentioned by 48 % of parents with kids aged 7–12 and by 51 % of mothers. The survey notes that only health worries rank higher, and that new recommendations from the Public Health Agency stress the importance of adult role‑modeling for screen use.

A separate study of teachers and school staff finds that growing communication with parents – especially through digital channels – is increasingly stressful. Teachers report that messages often spill into evenings, creating pressure to respond quickly and, in some cases, leading to threats or harassment.
