Swedish police investigate teenage network linked to Fagersta school attack
Following the school attack at Brinellskolan in Fagersta, where one girl was killed and three boys were injured, Swedish police have uncovered a network of teenagers linked to the suspect, Liam Nebel.
Investigations into Nebel’s digital communications have led to the apprehension of several minors. A 15-year-old girl from Södermanland is being investigated for preparation to commit murder after allegedly having her own murder plans. She has been taken into care under the Care of Young Persons Act (LVU).
In Stockholm, a 16-year-old boy has been detained on suspicion of aiding Nebel’s crimes and is also being investigated for planning a separate school attack. A 14-year-old boy is suspected of conspiracy to commit murder in connection with these chats. Additionally, a young boy in Gothenburg has been taken into custody for aggravated unlawful threats, and a 13-year-old is being investigated for unlawful threats after posting a video of a toy weapon on TikTok.
Prosecutor Adolf Moberg Oleszkiewicz stated that the investigation is extensive and involves a vast amount of digital evidence. Police are currently analyzing seized items from the homes of those involved.
