Swedish Royal Family Enjoys Summer Retreat on Öland

Swedish Crown Princess Victoria celebrated her 49th birthday on July 14, 2026 with the traditional Victoriaday on the island of Öland. The royal family gathered at Solliden Castle, where they partook in a private ceremony, a stroll in an open carriage to the Borgholm ruins, and a family concert before beginning their summer holiday.

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia also spent time on Öland before cutting the vacation short to attend the Jamboree 26 scout camp in Kristianstad, meeting Swedish scouts and highlighting the king’s long‑standing role as honorary chairman of the World Scout Organisation.
