Swedish royal family marks milestones on Öland

King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia opened a new exhibition and a jubilee garden at Solliden Palace on Öland. The garden, designed by TV‑personality gardener Karl Fredrik Gustafsson, commemorates the king’s 80th birthday, the couple’s 50‑year marriage and the 120‑year anniversary of the palace.

Princess Sofia has used Victoriadagen celebrations on Öland as a showcase for her evolving style. Since her first appearance in 2014, her outfits have ranged from black‑white dresses to summer designs by Swedish and Finnish brands, with each year's look noted by the media.

Both events highlight the Swedish royal family’s continued public presence and cultural influence during summer festivities on the island.
