SWI Group shifts strategic focus to digital infrastructure
SWI Capital Holding Ltd, known as SWI Group, has announced a strategic shift to focus its capital on digital infrastructure. Currently, over 80% of the Group’s capital is allocated to a transatlantic digital-infrastructure platform with a capacity exceeding 4 GW, with plans to increase this allocation to 90%.
Under the leadership of co-founders Max-Hervé George and Jaume Sabater, the Group is prioritizing data centers and AI infrastructure. As part of this expansion, and with Morgan Stanley & Co LLC acting as financial advisor, SWI Group has secured a controlling stake of over 70% in GDA. This entity will be renamed SWI Digital and will serve as the Group’s US-focused digital infrastructure platform.
The Group aims to move up the value chain from land and power ownership into AI compute, including high-performance computing (HPC) and GPU-as-a-service, while developing a proprietary AI-cloud platform.
