Swiggy Instamart launches on‑demand LPG cylinder delivery in India

Swiggy Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to introduce India’s first on‑demand LPG cylinder delivery service on a quick‑commerce platform. The pilot begins in Bengaluru, where customers can order HPCL’s new 10 kg composite “HP Navya” cylinder or a 5 kg metal cylinder through the Instamart app, even without an existing LPG connection. Orders are verified with identity checks and the first delivery includes a new cylinder, with empty cylinders collected on subsequent refills.

The service aims to provide rapid delivery—typically within 30 to 45 minutes—using HPCL’s authorised distributors and trained staff who follow safety and regulatory protocols. The partnership is presented as a step beyond grocery delivery, targeting students, working professionals, tenants and small families who need quick access to domestic LPG.

Swiggy Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha highlighted the expansion of the platform into essential home services, while HPCL Marketing Director Amit Garg said the collaboration aligns with HPCL’s goal to modernise energy access for a changing India.
