On‑demand LPG delivery services in India

In mid‑July 2026, Swiggy Instamart partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to launch India’s first on‑demand LPG cylinder delivery on its quick‑commerce platform. The pilot in Bengaluru lets customers order HPCL’s new 10 kg composite “HP Navya” cylinder or a 5 kg metal cylinder via the Instamart app, with deliveries promised in 30‑45 minutes and empty cylinders collected on subsequent refills.

A few weeks later, in early August 2026, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) introduced a 10‑kg fiber‑composite LPG cylinder called Bharatgas Lite ZIP, marketed as lighter, rust‑resistant and transparent for easy level checking. BPCL also rolled out the HelloBPCL digital platform, which integrates LPG booking, eKYC, delivery tracking and reward points. The service debuted in Mangaluru with a target of expanding to over 70 Indian cities.

Together, these developments show multiple Indian firms moving into rapid, app‑based LPG distribution, leveraging lighter cylinder technology and digital platforms to broaden access to household energy.
