Swine flu cases rise in Nashik and Rampur

Swine flu cases are rising in parts of India, specifically in Nashik and Rampur. In Nashik, 66 new cases have been reported within a 10-day period, with three deaths recorded over the past month. The surge in swine flu is adding pressure to local healthcare systems already managing dengue and malaria outbreaks. In response, the Nashik Municipal Corporation has prepared 20 dedicated beds across two hospitals, though many patients are currently seeking treatment in private facilities.

In the Rampur district of Uttar Pradesh, the number of confirmed swine flu patients has reached four. The recent cases include a mother and her one-year-old daughter, as well as a 68-year-old man. Health officials have initiated testing for family members and neighbors of those infected to monitor the spread. Local authorities have stated that testing and treatment for the virus are available free of charge at the district hospital.
