Swiss mother and son sentenced for cocaine trafficking

A 58-year-old woman and her 22-year-old son have been sentenced in Switzerland following a drug trafficking incident. The investigation revealed that the mother traveled from Naters in Valais to Bern, a journey of approximately two hours, to retrieve cocaine ordered by her son via Snapchat.

During the transaction in Bern, the woman purchased 9.3 grams of cocaine from an unknown individual for 700 Swiss francs before being apprehended. Authorities also discovered a large quantity of marijuana at the son's residence.

The son was ordered to pay fines totaling 4,600 Swiss francs, plus 800 Swiss francs in procedural costs. The mother received a lighter sentence consisting of a suspended fine and a requirement to pay 1,000 Swiss francs, which includes procedural costs.
