Syarikat Islam inaugurates new headquarters to drive economic empowerment

Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono, who also serves as the Secretary General of Syarikat Islam (SI), has inaugurated the new central headquarters for Syarikat Islam in Jakarta. Alongside SI President Hamdan Zoelva, the inauguration aims to strengthen organizational consolidation and promote economic independence through cooperatives and sharia economics.

Ferry emphasized that the new facility should serve as a hub for both spiritual dakwah and economic empowerment. He proposed strengthening mosque-based cooperatives, such as at the Baitur Rahman Mosque, to transform religious centers into productive economic hubs.

In a separate national dialogue in Surabaya, Ferry called for increased collaboration between major Islamic organizations like Muhammadiyah and Syarikat Islam to bolster the people's economy. He suggested leveraging government infrastructure, such as the Red and White Village/Sub-district Cooperatives (KDKMP), to expand market access for local products. The Ministry of Cooperatives has also entered a memorandum of understanding with the Muhammadiyah Majelis Tabligh to establish mosque cooperatives, with a pilot project planned for 700 locations.
