Syarikat Islam economic empowerment initiatives
Overview
Syarikat Islam (SI) has launched several initiatives focused on economic independence and organizational consolidation. In Jakarta, the organization inaugurated a new central headquarters intended to serve as a hub for spiritual dakwah and economic empowerment through cooperatives and sharia economics. Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono proposed strengthening mosque-based cooperatives to transform religious centers into productive economic hubs.
Following this, SI held its 42nd National Congress, known as Majelis Tahkim, in Surabaya. Under the theme ‘Economic Da'wah Towards True Independence,’ leadership reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to Islamic socialism and people-centered economics. The congress emphasized that true national independence requires economic self-reliance and the integration of moral values and social justice into the community’s economic life.
