Poland observes various religious pilgrimages and icon processions

Poland is observing various religious traditions and pilgrimages centered around the cult of the Black Madonna and the Jasna Góra sanctuary. Significant events include the 44th Tarnów Walking Pilgrimage, which saw over 7,000 faithful arrive at the basilica, and the 10th anniversary of the Przasnysz Bicycle Pilgrimage, covering nearly 400 kilometers.

In the Diocese of Świdnica, a historic pilgrimage of a copy of the Black Madonna icon is scheduled to visit nearly 190 parishes between August 2026 and April 2027. This initiative received a message of blessing from Pope Leo XIV, who encouraged the faithful to open themselves to spiritual gifts through the intercession of Mary.

Other notable gatherings include the 41st Pilgrimage of Energy Workers, the 9th Family Pilgrimage in Krzeszów, and the 3rd Women's Walking Pilgrimage to Mały Płock. The cultural importance of the Black Madonna icon is highlighted by its long history at Jasna Góra, dating back to the 14th century, and its status as a symbol of national identity and spiritual endurance.
