Sydney man hospitalized in Colombia after kidnapping and stabbing

Frank Stephen Ramirez, a 46-year-old father from Sydney, is in critical condition in a Medellín hospital after a violent attack in Colombia. Ramirez had traveled to the city to attend the Electric Daisy Carnival music festival.

According to family members and organizers of a GoFundMe campaign, Ramirez was kidnapped after leaving the festival and forced into a vehicle. Attackers allegedly tortured him and stabbed him more than 25 times in an attempt to extort money. He was reportedly thrown from a moving car and left in the street. Local reports indicate he sustained multiple stab wounds to his abdomen and both thighs.

Colombian authorities discovered Ramirez in the Laureles neighborhood and rushed him to the Incodol Clinic. Investigators are currently reviewing surveillance footage to identify the vehicle involved and determine if the incident was a robbery that escalated into violence. No arrests have been made at this time.
