Symeon Kedikoglu resigns from SYRIZA, joins ELAS
Symeon Kedikoglu, a Member of Parliament for Achaia representing SYRIZA, announced his resignation from both his parliamentary seat and the party. In a public letter posted to social media he described the decision as “not easy, not without thought and not without personal cost,” but necessary on the basis of “principles and values” and “personal consistency and dignity.” He said he could not stay away from the new political venture ELAS, led by former prime‑minister Alexis Tsipras, and will support it as a “progressive patriotic direction.” Kedikoglu stated that his resignation will act as a lever to enable stronger advocacy for citizens’ demands and that he will deliver his resignation letter to the Speaker of the Hellenic Parliament in the coming days. The move adds to a series of SYRIZA members leaving the party amid internal debates over its future direction.
