Synastria exhibition merges art, poetry, and astronomy in Athens

The “Synastria” multidisciplinary project, which integrates visual arts, poetry, and astronomy, is currently being held at the National Library of Greece at the SNFCC from September 16 to October 4. Conceived by Lefteris Moysiadis and curated by Kostas Prapglou, the exhibition features works by 20 artists and poems by 13 contemporary poets, exploring connections between the cosmos and human experience.

In addition to the main exhibition, the project includes rare manuscripts and editions on cosmography and astronomy from the National Library’s Special Collections. The event extends to other locations in Athens, including the National Observatory of Athens, the Eugenides Foundation Planetarium, and the Arsakeio Stoas.

At the National Observatory, sculptor Kostas Varotsos presented his work “Selene,” creating a dialogue between terrestrial materials and celestial bodies. The program also features interactive space tours and poetic readings, including a special event under the full moon on September 26.
